Carriere Motion Appliance, manufactured by Henry Schein Orthodontics and distributed in Japan through Ortho Dentaurum, is a preliminary step in various orthodontic treatment. If a patient has an overbite, where the front teeth are sticking out, space is needed to retract the teeth. Carriere Motion Appliance is a device that can efficiently guarantee creating that space. It was originally developed for maxillary protrusion, an overbite, but now it also covers patients with mandibular protrusion, a protruding lower lip.

The Carriere Motion Appliance was developed/invented by Dr. Luis Carrière, a world-renown orthodontist, who maintains a private practice in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Carrière is widely invited as a guest professor and lecturer at various orthodontic schools and professional meetings throughout Europe and the USA.
The Motion Appliance is a non-invasive device that mimics a human hip ball and socket joint. While distalizing the maxillary posterior teeth as a section and correcting first molar rotation and uprightness, the Motion Appliance establishes a Class I position in the early stages. Tooth extraction, which was once required for certain Class II cases, can now be effectively avoided by using the Motion Appliance. With its sleek, aesthetic design, little breakage, and mounting, it has a very comfortable feel.
Utilizing this correctional treatment for three to five months when the patient is motivated and compliance is high can reduce the overall treatment time by 35-40%. In the beginning the Motion Appliance was developed for Class II permanent dentition cases, but has now expanded to accommodate Class III and mixed dentition cases.
